Pop Icon Whitney Houston told friends she had a feeling the end was near only days leading up to her death.

Houston couldn’t have possibly predicted her own death but there are reports that she became very spiritual in her final days on earth. Sources have reported that the star was positive that she didn’t have long to live. She informed friends that she “felt like her time was coming” and, as a result, turned to religion to help her come to terms with this fact.

A source told TMZ she was quoting the bible, singing hymns and engaging in intense conversations about Jesus Christ and the afterlife with her close friends and family members. One day after she performed, ‘Yes Jesus Loves Me’ at Tru nightclub in Hollywood, Whitney told one of her friends, “I’m gonna go see Jesus … I want to see Jesus.”

Only hours before her death, Whitney was involved in an intense bible discussion, focusing on the passage involving Jesus and John the Baptist. Houston apparently took a great deal of comfort from the conversation.

“You know, he’s so cool … I really want to see that Jesus,” Whitney said hours before she died.

The bible passages she was quoting on the morning of her death were Matthew 3:13 through 17 … referencing the baptism of Jesus. The passage goes:

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room on Feb. 11. She was 48.
