Vivica A. Fox is ready to talk about her failed engagement.
Fox revealed that she fell for her a six-pack and a smile and it wasn’t the best decision. The actress got engaged to 28-year old Omar “Slimm” White a year ago and since then the couple has had a rocky relationship with a few reported breakups along the way.
The pair finally ended their relationship last month for good. Slimm told TooFab, “She’s a good woman. It’s just one of those situations where in life, people outgrow each other. I’m highly intelligent, very wise, and one thing I hate is negativity and drama. I hate arguing, and I value communication no matter what the problem may be. So as in any relationship, tension can build up and I finally had to walk away.”
It would have been the second marriage for Fox. She was married for four years to Christopher “Sixx-Nine” Harvest. The two divorced in 2002. It would have been the first for Slimm.
Access Hollywood caught up with Fox and she revealed she wanted to try the ‘family thing’ again. But there were a few warning signs that went up that resulted in the end their engagement.
“I was ready to do the family thing but unfortunately this didn’t work out, Fox told Access. “I had the courage to end things before we jumped the broom and wasted a lot of money.
On whether she had a feeling it wasn’t going to work:
Sometimes in relationships there are warning signs, and I’ve been married before. And if there are warning signs you should pay attention to them before you get families involved. All the hoopla and things like that. If things aren’t working out it’s okay to move on.
Of if she’s dating:
No, I haven’t moved on to another one. I’m enjoying being single for a little while and regrouping and focusing on myself and my career and being happy and positive.
On if it’s hard to find a man in Hollywood:
Sometimes when you’re successful you just have to make sure that someone is coming to you with real intentions. That means taking the time to get to know them for real and make sure they’re not dating you as the celebrity but they’re dating you as a person. I mean you are who you are if you are a celebrity. But that does make it a little bit difficult to make sure that someone isn’t marrying you for a shopping spree.
On whether she has a specific type of guy she likes to date:
To be honest with you, I don’t know. I told myself I’m going to try something different next time ‘cause I happen to fall in love with a six-pack and a smile and look what that’s gotten me.
