Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond appeared as a guest on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to discuss her ongoing custody battle for her two sons.

Tameka also talked about her five-year old’s recent pool accident. Their son Usher Raymond V was released from a children’s hospital on Sunday, one week after nearly drowning in a swimming pool accident at his dad’s house. The 42-year old told Dan Abrams that she never blamed Usher for the pool accident that nearly took the couple’s son, but was “just angry that it happened on his watch.

“I was mad because I was like ‘How did this even happen?,” Tameka said about the accident. “Who was watching him? Why was my son under water for nearly 3 minutes?’

Tameka said it was like reliving her son’s Kile’s death. Her 11-year old son was declared brain dead after a freak boating accident on Lake Lanier in July 2012. He died 2 weeks later when he was taken off life support.

“It was like I relived it,” she said. “My brain went into all these modes. I’d gotten this call before.”

Tameka, who has visitation rights with her boys, said “I want to have first right of refusal. (If Usher is out of town) I don’t want them to go home to the nanny and watch whatever show their dad is on. They should be home with their mom.”

The conversation got a little awkward when Abrams asked Tameka about her psychological examination. She took a test at some point that revealed she had “a moderately severe mental disorder?”

“I’m going to be retested,” Tameka said. “You would think from hearing that, that she must be cutting them, beating them, on crack.”

Raymond said she hopes to keep battling for the chance to see her kids more often, but it isn’t easy. Not when Usher is a mega celebrity and she’s simply… a person.

“I am an individual,” she said. “I don’t have a publicist. I don’t have a manager [or] an agent. I just have regular working class friends, family members. We don’t know how to fight the machine.”
