Style Basics: How to Style a White Tee
SimoneSeptember 12, 2011
Fashion is subjective. Its surrounds us daily and it means something different to each and every one of us. Fashion and style go hand in hand. But one doesn’t dictate the other. Style is the easiest way to showcase your personality and creativity without any effort on your part. As the seasons change, we often find ourselves clamoring to find what’s HOT or FRESH on the market. Rockin’ a few trends is fine, but there are certain things that every woman (and man for that matter) should have in their closet at all times.
Wardrobe staples are generally items you can wear anytime, with anything, anywhere and still look put together. The most common wardrobe staples for women are: a Little Black Dress (LBD), Black/Neutral Blazer, Pencil Skirt, Bootleg Cut Jeans, Black Leggings/Tights, Black Pumps..the list goes on and on. These items can be reworked over and over again with different things and they NEVER go out of style. The #1 item every woman should have in her wardrobe is a Basic White Tee (BWT). BWTs are easily accessible and can range in price from $3.99-$100.00 and up. My favorite places to shop for BTWs are Forever21 and Target. They have the best prices and can be found in just about every city. The most you will pay for them at either of these stores is $8.00.
While writing this article, I came across this video on YouTube by a lovely and stylish young lady, SongBirdDiva4Life. She explains why a BWT is an essential for your wardrobe. She actually shows how you can style it.
I hope this video gave you a few ideas of how you can style a Basic White Tee for any occasion. It’s one of the many things that can be dressed up or down with the right accessories. Stay tuned for more Style Basics. I want to show you all that it doesn’t take much, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to look like a million bucks!! As long as you invest in nice quality pieces overtime, you will have a fabulous wardrobe that will carry you throughout the seasons for years to come!!
