Solange Knowles’ business partner is in critical condition after being stabbed 10 times.

According to The Times-Picayune and Billboard, Armina Mussa was stabbed 10 times on Wednesday in New Orleans. She is the project director for Knowles’ brand Saint Heron and a co-owner of the French Quarter boutique, Exodus Goods.

The Times-Picayune reports that Arronesia Christophe was booked on charges of attempted second-degree murder after police said she stabbed Mussa. Solange was in Los Angeles when the incident took place but flew back to be by Mussa’s side. Knowles also attended Christophe’s first appearance in court on Thursday afternoon.

According to The Times-Picayune, Christophe told police that she had been attacked by Mussa and was acting in self-defense when she stabbed her. Christophe claims Mussa arrived at a house she was visiting and yelled at her to leave.

Police records show Christophe said she then grabbed a small folding knife from the center console of her car and told Mussa to “get back,” and to “please back away,” but claimed the woman continued to yell at her. Mussa then began punching her and Christophe was pulled by her hair to the ground when she began swinging her knife.

Christophe told police she did not believe she stabbed Mussa. After police were called, Chrisophe stayed at the scene. Mussa was rushed to the hospital where she underwent multiple surgeries and remains in critical condition.

Christophe was initially booked on charges of aggravated battery, but charges were increased to attempted second-degree murder due to the severity of Mussa’s injuries. A $50,000 bond was posted for Christophe on Friday morning.
