Sharon Osbourne Slams ‘The Talk’ Former Co-Hosts on Howard Stern

Many fans were shocked when “The Talk” executives got rid of former co-hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini.

Fan rallied around Peete and Remini in an effort to keep them on the show, but their efforts failed. Executives brought in comedian Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler to move forward before season 2 began.

Peete and Remini expressed their confusion and sadness on Twitter. They told fans they didn’t know why they were ousted. Many speculated that co-host Julie Chen was the culprit behind the firings. There were rumors that as the wife of CBS head Les Moonves, she was able to make decisions on the show.

But Sara Gilbert quickly squashed that theory on the Howard Stern show where she appeared with Chen and Sharon Osbourne to help promote the show. When Stern asked Chen about those rumors, Gilbert took up for Chen.

“She’s definitely not the bad guy,” Gilbert insisted. “This show is run by the studio, the network, an EP [executive producer], and that’s where the creative decisions are coming from. These kinds of changes happen all the time on these shows. When people are blaming Julie, they’re looking for a scapegoat.”

Stern responded that, “It sounded like a cover up.” Osbourne appeared to be bothered by Stern’s statement and gave her take on what happened.

“Some people don’t really know who they are,” Osbourne told Stern. “You have to know who you are when you’re in something like this. You can’t pretend to be something you’re not. You have to know your brand. You can’t be all things to everyone. And the other thing is, I always say, ‘I’m not running for public office. I don’t care if people like me or not.'”

Maybe Osbourne’s comments bring some closure for Peete and Remini. Listen to audio from the Howard Stern interview below.
