Pastor Marvin Winans was assaulted and carjacked at a gas station on Detoit’s west side Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Detroit News, Pastor Winans pulled into a gas station at Davison and Linwood wearing a $40,000 Presidential Rolex watch and driving a $72,000 purple QX56 SUV. But after the robbers got threw with him he was left standing in his boxers. The robbers stole his pants too in broad daylight.

Winans, who is the pastor at Perfecting Church on Detroit’s east side, told locals reporters he had a bad feeling when he walked into the gas station and noticed 10 young men there. Four of whom followed him outside the store after he paid. He claims he was hit while pumping gas.

Native Detroiters wondered what Pastor Winans, who normally travels with bodyguards, was doing alone in that particularly rough part of town. Winans said he didn’t know if the men knew who he was.

Winans, who gave Whitney Houston’s eulogy during her funeral in February, told Detroit News that he loved the city and didn’t want to be afraid ‘of us.’
