New Line Cinema has given the go ahead to start production on a movie based on the legendary rap group N.W.A.

Former member Ice Cube will be the producer for the film. Easy-E’s son wants to play his father in the movie. According to TMZ, Eric Wright, Jr. claims there is a “high probablity’ he’ll play his father in the film.

“I’m the perfect man for the role,” said Lil Easy-E. “Who better to play him in the N.W.A. days? Like father, like son — no makeup needed.”

The 27-year-old, who has trained with an acting coach in the past, has already been in contact with the movie producers, but he has not formally auditioned for the part. Wright was only 11 years old when his father died of complications of AIDS 1995.

Ice-Cube, Dr. Dre, DJ Yella, Arabian Prince, Easy-E and MC Ren were group members of the gansta rap group from Compton. Their debut album “Straight Outta Compton” gained plenty of controversy because of its explicit lyrics and subject nature. The album was banned on US radio stations. The group sold more than nine million records.
