Teen Mom reality star Amber Portwood was sentenced to five years in prison after throwing in  the towel on rehab and asking an Indiana judge to reimpose her sentence.

Portwood had been on probation following a December 2011 drug arrest, but was jailed for contempt of court this spring after failing to show up for a drug test. Portwood appeared in court on Tuesday morning when her attorney asked for leniency, TMZ reports. But the judge was unmoved and insisted he had no choice but to enforce the terms of Portwood’s prior plea agreement.

Portwood’s five-year sentence had previously been delayed on condition that she complete a drug rehabilitation program. But Portwood allegedly gave up on the program and asked to go to prison instead.

The judge said he would refer Portwood to the Indiana Department of Corrections program, which is an incarceration-based treatment and therapeutic community program. Portwood will be given credit for time served in jail.

In 2010, Portwood was charged with three felonies for domestic violence against her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, which occurred while their daughter Leah was present and was caught by MTV cameras. She was sentenced to two years probation.

In 2011, Portwood was rushed to the hospital after what was rumored to be a suicide attempt in June. She, later, got into a physical altercation and police found prescription medication without having a prescription in December.

MTV announced in May that the original cast of Teen Mom, which stars Amber, Maci, Catelynn and Farrah, returns for its final season on June 12.
