Ms. Melodie From Boogie Down Productions Has Died

Ms. Melodie from the legendary Boogie Down Productions crew has passed away, according to the Urban Daily.
Melodie, who real name is Ramona Parker, cause of death is unknown. The Brooklyn native is survived by two sons. Melodie is the ex-wife of BDP founder KRS-ONE. She released her album Diva in 1989 on Jive Records. She is best known for her hit video, Live On Stage and her hit single Hype According to Ms. Melodie.
Melodie most memorable rap verse was on the single of the hit Self Destruction. She raps: “I’m Ms. Melodie and I’m a born again rebel/The violence in rap must cease and seckle/If we want to develop and grow to another level/We can’t be guinea pigs for the devil/The enemy knows, they’re no fools/Because everyone knows that hip-hop rules/So we gotta get a grip and grab what’s wrong/The opposition is weak and rap is strong.”
