The Miami Heat celebrated their 2012 NBA championship on Tuesday night with a ring and banner ceremony before they beat the Boston Celtics 120-107.

The ceremony was a glitzy affair complete with an indoor fireworks show at American Airlines Arena. Before the rings were unveiled they were wheeled onto the court surrounded by Miami police officers. And for good reason. Each player’s ring is made of 14 karat white and yellow gold and features 219 diamonds (10.8 total carats), 46 custom-cut princess-cut diamonds, and three Onyx stones.

The ring, which weighs a quarter of a pound, features the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy at the top in 14 karat gold with a round half-carat diamond in the shape of a basketball. The Heat logo is set with 31 diamonds, and the words “World’’ and “Champions’’ are framed by 46 diamonds.

The rings were manufactured in Montreal by the Jostens company and arrived in Miami last week. NBA Commissioner David Stern handed Heat owner Micky Arison the first ring before executives, players and coaches received their rings.

And the wives and girlfriends of the players apparently got rings too. Check out a few photos below.
