Lady Gaga is Daddy’s Girl, She Splits Earnings With Her Father

Lady Gaga is daddy’s girl.
So much so, that the pop diva splits her earnings with her father Joe Germanotta. Yep, her pops gets half. Gaga and her father split 50 percent of her income via their own LLCs: Team Love Child and Mermaid Music, the New York Post reports.
The split of her income is shocking to industry insiders. A lawyer who represents Elvis Costello and Wilco said the deal is ridiculous, saying, “There’s really no justifiable sense to doing a 50/50 deal with anyone in your career, other than someone you’re partners in a band with. Certainly no artist entering a management deal does anything close to that — a commission is usually 15 to 20 percent.”
The fact that Germanotta helped support Gaga, who was born Stefani Germanotta, while she was an upcoming artist might be the reason for the 50/50 split. He used his money and connections to hire producers to book studio time and get Gaga in the room with record executives. He now works in the industry as a manager for a few new artists.
Gaga even spends the Thanksgiving holidays in the Upper East Side home where she grew up. Gaga’s ABC special, “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving,” premieres Thursday night and shows the 25-year-old in the kitchen serving up dishes inspired by her Italian heritage.
“She still doesn’t have her own place in the city,” a longtime friend of Gaga told the New York Post. “She and her family are very tight.”
Gaga enlisted celebrity chef Art Smith to remake old family recipes for the holidays. Smith is also the chef of the restaurant Gaga bought for her father named Joanne’s after her late sister.
In January 2010, she told Elle magazine, “I’m married to my dad,” and that September, she told Vanity Fair, “I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I’ve been in my father’s arms for two weeks, wishing [him] a Happy Father’s Day.”
