Singer John Mayer has never been one to hold back his comments when it comes to his ex-girlfriends.

Mayer recently blasted his rumored ex Taylor Swift in an interview with Rolling Stone. Then the two had an uncomfortable run in at a Hollywood hotspot on Tuesday night.

According to Page Six, Swift was at Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel and was about to be seated when she noticed Mayer at a table nearby. A source told the paper, “Taylor very visibly — in front of the entire restaurant — demanded to be moved to the other side. The bar’s usually an oasis of calm and privacy for celebrities and power players, but this was drama central.”

This awkward moment came just a day before Mayer’s comment about Swift’s song Dear John hit the internet. He revealed to Rolling stone, “It made me feel terrible. Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.”

Mayer said he was blindsided by the song.

“I never got an email, he said. “I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”

Swift’s song lyrically addresses a lover who mistreats and misleads her.

“I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting,” Mayer said. “I know she’s the biggest thing in the world, and ‘’I’m not trying to sink anybody’s ship, but I think it’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait till he gets a load of this!’ That’s bullshit.”

A Swift friend defended the county superstar. “John was a player and treated her like s—,” the source told Us Weekly. “He looked at her as a conquest. Taylor is going to think even less of him now!”

Mayer’s full Rolling Stone interview will hit newsstands on Friday, June 8.
