Fantasia Barrino is ready to get back to work.

The American Idol alum has been doing the media rounds and she’s featured on the cover of Jet magazine’s March 18th issue. Although, Fantasia looks fierce on the cover, she’s not pleased with the photo the magazine selected.

According to Fantasia, the magazine used an old photo instead of one of the new images she sent to the publication. She vented her frustration on Instagram.

JET Magazine’s Editor In Chief, Mitzi Miller responded to Fantasia’s claims with the statement:

JET magazine is honored to have Fantasia grace the cover of its March issue.  It is unfortunate that Fantasia is displeased with the cover selection, however JET stands by its decision. As  standard editorial practice, JET consulted with Fantasia’s team, but reserves  the right to select the image we deem as most appropriate for JET’s brand and  reflective of the cover story sentiment. JET continues to root for Fantasia’s  success and encourages her fans to pick up the new issue.

According to a source, the photos that she sent in were not appropriate for a  cover. Check out the photos Fantasia submitted below.

Check out a few excerpts from the interview below.

On learning to love herself:

“I am finally able to love myself. The main thing I wanted in life was peace and freedom; the ability to let go…You could say the stage saved me because when I’m in front of people I carry my pain and soul…That is my salvation.”

On being single:

“I’m single and happy. I have a great relationship with both of my children’s fathers… If you catch me with either of them, we are not together— we are just being good parents. All I’m focused on right now is music and my kids.”
