Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper: “I Will Fight Every N*gger Here” [Video]

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper was caught using the n-word on video.

Cooper was upset that a black security guard wouldn’t let him backstage at a Kenny Chesney concert. Hours after the video went viral, Cooper apologized to his teammates. He was allegedly fined $1,000 by the team for his comments and must attend mandatory sensitivity classes.

A concertgoer who witnessed the 25-year-old’s racist rant sent this email to Deadspin.com. The website reports:

Riley was going fucking nuts because he wasn’t allowed backstage. He didn’t have passes like some of the other players and was SO pissed that the stadium people wouldn’t let him back just because he was Riley Cooper.

He had been drinking since 11 AM (Kenny didn’t go on until 8). Feel free to use the attached pic of his car.

Less than a few hours after the video surfaced, Cooper apologized.

“I am so ashamed and disgusted with myself,” Cooper wrote on Twitter. “I want to apologize. I have been offensive. I have apologized to my coach, (Eagles owner) Jeffrey Lurie, and (general manager) Howie Roseman and to my teammates. I owe an apology to the fans and to this community. I am so ashamed, but there are no excuses. What I did was wrong and I will accept the consequences.”

After catching wind of the racist remark, Michael Vick’s brother Marcus Vick took to Twitter to offer $1,000 to the first NFL safety who lights the Eagles receiver up this season. He tweeted, “Hey I’m putting a bounty on Riley’s head. 1k to the first Free Safety or Strong safety that light his ass up! Wake him up please.”

Marcus also tweeted a bunch a four-letter words.

Michael Vick disagrees with Marcus and has forgiven Cooper. He tweeted,”Riley’s my friend Our relationship is mutual respect. He looked me in the eyes and apologized. I believe in forgiveness and I believe in him.”

Even if Cooper is “forgiven” by the organization and his teammates for his lapse in judgment, it will probably be difficult for people to believe he is not racist.
