A few days after Rihanna unveiled a large tattoo of Goddess Isis under her breast, Chris Brown was spotted with a new tattoo on his neck of a battered woman.
Rihanna’s newest tattoo is a tribute to her late grandmother, Dolly, who died of cancer at the end of June. Brown’s new neck tattoo resembles Rihanna’s battered face. The body art appears to be of a woman’s face or mask with one side disfigured.
Brown’s rep denies it is of Rihanna’s face. But the ink does bare similarities of Rihanna beaten face in 2009.
Sources told TMZ the tattoo is not meant to portray Rihanna, but “a random woman.”His reps said the tattoo is a combination of a sugar skull associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, and a MAC cosmetics design he saw.
The tattoo artist also spoke out in Chris’s defense, verifying that Brown brought him both the MAC and “sugar skull” picture below.
Regardless, the tattoo is an unpleasant reminder of the infamous night Brown assaulted Rihanna in 2009 after the Grammy Awards.
But the two have seemed to have gotten past the beating and have reconciled. Brown and Rihanna were seen kissing on the lips at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Brown, who debuted the new tattoo on 1 September, has volunteered time at the Jenesse Center, which is the oldest domestic violence prevention center in Los Angeles. He’s painted a mural on the Center’s wall and assisted with a school supply fundraiser.
