Whitney Houston’s family tries to pick up the pieces following her tragic death in February.

Cameras filmed the clan while they coped with her passing for Lifetime’s Houstons: On Our Own,” which debuted on television Wednesday night. The show follows the lives of Whitney’s 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, Nick Gordon (Whitney’s adopted son/Krissy’s boyfriend), Pat Houston (Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager), Gary Houston (Whitney’s brother and Pat’s husband), Rayah Houston (Pat and Gary’s daughter) and Cissy Houston (Whitney’s mother).

In the first episode of the show, Bobbi Kristina made it clear that she’s ‘in love with’ Nick.

“It really bothers me that everybody has our relationship screwed up,” Nick said on the show. “I was never adopted [by Whitney] nor am I her [Bobbi Kristina’s] blood brother. We just really care about each other.”

Bobbi Kris and Nick, later, reveal they’re engaged. Some of the family members are not pleased.

“How do you go from being her brother to being her boyfriend?” Gary asks. “Engagement? No. I’m speechless,” Pat added. Whitney’s former manager adds she’s also concerned about Krissy’s underage drinking.

“It’s very difficult to deal with her [Bobbi} because the world is so involved in our family,” says Pat. “I don’t want to fail Krissy and I don’t want Krissy to fail herself.”

In the preview for an upcoming episode, Nick makes it clear, marriage or no marriage, he’s not reaching out to Bobby Brown. After Gary and cousin Ray asks Nick when he plans to speak to Bobby about marrying his daughter Nick replies, “[How] the f**K am I supposed to talk to a man that hasn’t even talked to his daughter?”

Nick adds, “There’s no connection with his daughter, how am I supposed to build a connection with him?”
